iF Apple made any of these, I'd buy them. Maybe.

iPad Nano. I think the iPad is going to be a little bit too big. Personally I think the breadwinner would be a handheld pocket-sized version, ya know, one that's about the size of a phone...

iPhone Shuffle. I'm still waiting for this one. Who needs a screen for their iPhone? Too complicated if you ask me. I just want something basic and tiny, with just play/answer, stop/hang up, forward, back, and volume controls. And it'll work just like the iPod Shuffle - it'll call completely random phone numbers between completely random music. It'll drastically improve geek social lives a billion-fold cause ya don't know who you'll talk to at any given time! And you'll be forced to talk to them for a random amount of time before it hangs up and moves onto the next song or call! That's pure iGold right there.

iSight Air. Lots of other companies are making wireless network enabled cameras, why hasn't Apple jumped into that market yet? With the quality they put into their cameras (ilove my original firewire iSight, still use it today on my comp as one of my webcams and I don't have a Mac, also the cameras on the Macbooks are awesome for how tiny they are) and the simplicity they design into their UI's for their products, they'd corner the market in no time. Who cares that it'd cost $600 or so?

iWear. Hey, other companies sell clothing with their logos plastered on them, why can't Apple? Ok, really I just want a hat with an Apple logo on it, but Angel won't get me one. :(

iMote. They already make small tiny remote controls for controling some of their products. Why not make a sleek universal remote with a multi-touch interface so users can easily fully integrate their products into their home theaters? Control everything with an iPod-like interface, woo!

iPitch. Simple yet effective projector, pitches a crystal clear image from a device the size of a Mac Mini. Or better yet, available built-in to a Mac Mini.

iPoints. Everyone else is making their own currency for their online stores. Microsoft points. Nintendo points. Why not Apple iPoints? Wait, that's a horrible idea. Just continue to use real currencies like you do already, Apple. You've got something great going there already.

This week has been a really horrible week here in Vallejo. Several violent crimes have been in the paper the last couple of days. Ice cream truck driver shot. City worker beaten by mob of school kids. Man shot outside liquor store. Triple stabbing.

Angel and I even heard the sirens last night, when the police were called out to the street right next to the court my house is on, for the triple stabbing that apparently occured there.

Honestly, I'm geting a bit more scared than usual around here.

Just 10 minutes after being called to the homicide scene, officers then received a report of a stabbing on the 100 block of Coloma Way, police said in a separate statement.

No victims were found on Coloma Way, but when officers stopped a vehicle on Sonoma Boulevard just under the Highway 37 overpass -- well within viewing distance of the shooting scene -- they discovered two stabbing victims.

Monette Boniafacio, 25, and Russell Sevilla, 20, had been stabbed several times, police said. One was taken by air and another by ground transport to John Muir, Tweedy said. A third stabbing victim, Valentino Abasolo, 21, had walked himself into Kaiser Permanente, police said.

Corn Pops for lunch today, same as yesterday. Noticed the cereal they had was on sale, that's why. $1.29 a box instead of $4.79. Pricey there normally, yep. Apparently, according to the front of the box, they are now a source of fiber, to promote health. Wheee.

Off at 2 today, Fail Boss asked me to stay till 2 instead of getting off at 12, cause she asked me to come in at 6. Pretty much since she doesn't know how to schedule properly, that would leave a nice big open hole that would be bad, though probably amusing. Ah well. Least I get some more hours despite having them cut.

If anyone has any pics of a certain RED Engineer running around FC, would you kindly please link me? :D

Today was a mostly hangout type of day. Slept in, got everything packed, and then went down to the lobby to checkout the suite and check into the regular room that I have for one night. Angel and I head home tomorrow.

Took us a few trips to get everything moved into the new room, which is one floor higher than the suite was. We're currently in 594.

Had a flashback to CaliFur today. The hotel temporarily put up some large black partitions by the front door because there were some conferences/meetings going on in the convention spaces on the second floor that were not part of FC. UPS and Hitatchi, I hear.

The Dead Dog Party was pretty awesome. At first anyway. The music kinda went from awesome to ok to mediocre to too-loud-crap. In my 9 years of going to FC however, I have never seen the hotel this well packed with furries though. There were still a ton of people and fursuiters hanging out at the party or in the lobby or outside.

After the Dead Dog ended, pretty much everyone went outside into the area in front of the hotel to continue the festivities. It's freezing cold outside, which is perfect for the fursuiters. A couple were getting into the street though, which was a bit of a concern but everyone was mostly being safe.

Several more TF2 characters today, supposedly still more gonna pop up. Woot.

Picked up an awesome pre-ordered badge done by [livejournal.com profile] cooner (laser etched leather mounted to wooden backer), and got a badge done by Jim Groat, keeping with my yearly tradition. I also gave him a bottle of Mexican Coke, which he enjoyed.

Had one cup of Blood Wine up at the Black Hole run by the Klingons on the party floor (it's on the 19th floor this year, almost at the top, to minimize disturbances I'm guessing?), sadly they were out of Warp Core Coolant, which I rather like. [livejournal.com profile] selkit gave me a sip of some stuff he was carrying around, which was pretty damned awesome. Muahah.

I'm not anywhere near being even slightly buzzed, so I'm gonna get into fursuit now and putz around the hotel for a little while and see who all is floating around.

FC was almost on TV today. The news did a report on the con, which can be see at the following link. I hear that the footage wasn't aired on TV because of breaking news elsewhere in the city, however, the segment is available online.

M-Tigress turns 5 years old as of Saturday night/Sunday morning. I picked her up from [livejournal.com profile] latinvixen02 on Sunday night during FC 2005. The years have just flown by, haven't they?

Met up with the roomies around 10AM, went downstairs to the lobby at 12 to check out of the room, and to check into the suite.

We're in room 479 now, the Almaden Suite in the south tower.

Ran around yesterday and a lot of today in my RED Engineer costume. I got lots of compliments, and I also ran into a lot of other people who said they were going to wear their TF2 costumes tomorrow during the con. Should be interesting. Hopefully people will take lots of pics.

Catch ya all later!

Angel and I are here at the Fairmont now, temporarily in room 494 in the tower rooms. We get the suite and meet up with our roomies tomorrow.

The lobby/bar area was full of furries already, didn't recognize anyone during the quick glances I took, but I'm gonna go out there again and see if I can't find anyone.

It's looking like it's going to be a good con.

Amazing what you can do with some paper, a printer, scissors, string, binder clips, and a trip to OfficeMax for lamination.

Just finished putting together Spy masks for all 9 Team Fortress 2 classes.

Muahahah!

Just gotta attach the Engineer symbols to the sleeves of my shirt, then my TF2 Engineer costume is ready to go. I managed to locate some overalls on Amazon, as well as some goggles that work nicely, so I ordered those. Next day air shipping was dirt cheap since I signed up for their Amazon Prime trial. I've been waiting for the right time to abuse that, I think it paid off. They arrived today. Only things I'm not going to have during the con are a shotgun, the Engineer's build PDA, and his toolboxes with the deployables in them. Well, and work boots, but I don't need boots at this point.

Just gotta pack up my electronics tomorrow morning, then Angel and I are off to the Fairmont for FC. I hope to see a lot of you at the con!
m_tiger: (OMGWTFBBQBIKE)
I need to find some overalls, dammit. Specifically, some dark gray ones. And no stores around here seem to have any in stock. x.x

Goggles would be nice too, but I think I can make due with sunglasses instead.

Still don't know how I'm gonna do the arm patch, but I might just do that at a later time, after the con.

T-Minus 4 days.
m_tiger: (TF2 - Bob The Engineer)
This arrived in the mail last Saturday, Jan 2nd.

:D

Just a few things left to find, and only 1.5 weeks to go..

Mmm, non-folded fortune cookie nachos. o.o;

According to my computer's clock, which is sync'd to an internet time server, the ball dropped 3 minutes early. So I missed watching it. Doh.

Due to unforseen unfortunate cirmumstances, a couple of my roomies for FC had to back out. I wish them the best of luck dealing with their situations, however as they can no longer make the con, I am in need of roomies to replace them.

I have a suite reserved, for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. It is a deluxe room in the south tower, which is supposed to be bigger, but a little more expensive than a suite ($259 a night + taxes).

So far it's Me, Angel, and Frost Bight in the room confirmed. We're all fursuiters, and fun loving, pretty quiet individuals.

We're looking for at least 3 people to fill in the room with 6 people, which would put us back on track to where we were before people had to drop. Should be ample room for 7 though (always was more than enough at the Doubletree). Maybe room for 8, too?

3-way split would be $400 each person for all 4 nights, and is where we're down to now.
4-way split would be $300 each person for all 4 nights.
5-way split would be $240 each person for all 4 nights.
6-way split would be $200 each person for all 4 nights, and is where we were.
7-way split would be $170 each person for all 4 nights.
8-way split would be $150 each person for all 4 nights.

If there's anyone interested, please comment or contact me through email or AIM.

Limited time Pomegranite 7-up tastes like Mike's Hard Pomegranite Punch, minus the alcohol. I likeses it. I'm gonna have to stock up on a few bottles before it's gone for good.

Power

Dec. 13th, 2009 01:14 am
m_tiger: (Hi!)
Blackouts suck.

Power's been out here since a little after 8PM tonight. I was online for a while after that using my netbook with my cell phone, then my laptop with my cell phone, but those both ran out of juice. Updating with just my cell phone right now. Bored as hell but not sleepy yet so I'm just hanging out with Benny.

Changed a BIOS setting. Shrithe now scores 16,152 in 3D Mark 2006.

Off today and tomorrow, werk Friday, then off Saturday again. Probably werking Sunday, dunno. We'll see.

Angel's over for a couple days. Not really much else going on.
