Shopping, Turkey, More Shopping
Nov. 24th, 2007 09:58 pmWednesday was slow as hell at werk. I got some stuff in, did a lot aroudn the store, then left early at 2PM. Stopped over at Gamestop to see if they got in the pre-sale extra game character codes for Unreal Tournament 3, which I picked up Tuesday, yet. Still hadn't. Stuck around a little killing time and watching the employees going crazy with a completely filled stockroom - they had just gotten in a ton of crap for Friday's sales. The cashier who's always there when I go in said hi to me again, she's always friendly to me. Thanksgiving we headed over to my aunt's house for dinner. Was pretty off this year. Pretty much everyone was in a hurry to get outta there, quite disappointing and very unusual. Not everyone showed up, too. All in all it was boring and unremarkable. Ah well.
Got home, then Benny, Malinda, and I set out to go shopping. We left at 12:15, went to Best Buy here in Vallejo. There were about 50 people in line already, so we gave up there. We wanted the $200 computer and $230 laptops, but those were already gone given the amount of people. The guys in line were 'cheating' too. 10 cars were parked in a line side to side at the front door so their owners didn't have to wait in the cold. While a smart idea, that was sooooo illegal. Ah well.
We ended up going to Fry's over in Concord. We got there at 12:45, ended up in line on the side of the building almost to the back. Apparently the people at the front of the line started lining up at 10 -AM- Thanksgiving Day. Waited til 5AM when they opened. I waved my signature 2-finger wave/salute at the news camera when I was heading in the front door, channel 5 news was there covering the insanity. We ran and grabbed some stuff, then got in line at 6:45. Malinda volunteered to watch the cart while Benny and I ran around grabbing more stuff. We managed to come out with a TON of deals. We got through the line at 11:20.
Yes you read that time right, 4 hours 35 minutes to pay.
Stopped by Best Buy here in Vallejo again on the way back, picked up a few items we had stashed earlier in the week, then came home, arriving around 1PM.
